Winstar Farms, LLCWinstar Farms, LLC
Owners Kenny Troutt and Co-Owner/Chairman Bill Casner have done a lot together. They both started in the Thoroughbred industry because of their love for racing; both left to build Troutt’s Excel Communications empire (which went public in 1999), both returned to the Thoroughbred racing world and within a few years came together to form another partnership: Winstar Farm, LLC. Sprawling over 1400 acres in stunning Versailles, KY, Winstar Farm remains a significant player in the upper echelons of the opulent Thoroughbred racing world. Currently it stands six stallions, with all bets placed on its Storm Cat son, Bluegrass Cat, who ran a very successful 2007 season and is continuing his success in the breeding shed. Amidst its posh exterior, it stands as a solid, approachable door to the racing world. Winstar is excited to host you as the Thoroughbred racing stop on the 2007 Kentucky Elite Farm & Events tour, as the supreme example for excitement in Thoroughbred racing.

Rolex KentuckyRolex Kentucky Three-Day Event - THE ONLY FOUR STAR THREE-DAY EVENT IN THE AMERICAS

Because horse and rider combinations compete in World Championships and Olympic Games at the Four Star level, the ability to train and test themselves at this level on an annual basis is critical to developing strong individuals and teams for those contests.

While not every combination that competes at the Four Star level will be chosen to represent the U.S. or, in the case of foreign riders, their own country, the Rolex Four Star Championship, $200,000 in prize money and a Rolex Watch make the competition important in its own right. Additionally for U.S. riders, the USET Foundation CCI**** Championship for the Pinnacle Cup marks the high point of any U.S. rider's career.

To win Rolex Kentucky sets a horse and rider apart and they become members of that upper echelon who are winners of a CCI****. Simply to finish also puts them in select company.

Destination Equus guests will a full morning at the most attended event of the competition: Cross Country Day.

For guests wishing to attend more of Rolex than what is on the tour, the tour is strategically scheduled so that you may attend Dressage on Thursday, April 24th before the tour and Stadium Jumping on Sunday afternoon, April 27th after the tour concludes. Indicate your extended hotel stay dates on the Online Tour Registration form to secure a discounted $199/night + tax rate for Destination Equus guests. You may also upgrade your existing Saturday ticket (included in the tour) to include additional discounted Rolex day passes.

Undulata Farm

Undulata Farm, Shelbyville, KY
Shelby County is "The Saddlebred Capital of the World," because it is the home of many of the country's most outstanding American Saddlebred breeding and training facilities.

The Saddle Horse has been a part of the area's history since the 1760's when Daniel Boone and his brother Squire traveled to Kentucky on "American Horses," the forerunners of the modern Saddlebred.

As the American Saddlebred breed grew, some of the most historic farms were located around Shelbyville. One of the most famous was Undulata, where Civil War veteran Harry Weissinger and his sons bred the great stallion American Born. Later owned by Jane Meyer, Undulata was the home of the Beau Gallant. Now the home of Saddle Horse breeder and trainer Edward “Hoppy” Bennett, it is again returning to prominence in the Saddle Horse world.

Known by many as the “Grandfather of Saddlebreds”, Hoppy Bennett is a legendary trainer of nearly half a century in the pageantry-filled world of Saddlebreds. His stunning facility will be the host for the tour’s exciting grand finale, the “Shelbyville Saddlebred Soiree”, where leading saddle seat horses from Shelbyville, the Saddlebred Capital of the World” will perform after dinner, bringing the exciting world of Saddlebreds and the Shelbyville Horse Show to your dinner seats.

Keeneland Race TrackKeeneland Race Track
It is commonly referred to as the “Country Club of Racetracks,” though its influence and active role in the equine community stretch far beyond its jaw-dropping track. Racing only six weeks a year, you’ll enjoy the serene moments of foggy morning workouts as you wake up with coffee, followed by a tour of the track and sales pavilions that house the famous Keeneland Yearling Sales each October.
